CeyNext ("CeyNext", "we", "us", or "our") is a software development agency that designs, builds, and publishes mobile, web, and AI-driven applications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our website, contact us, or use applications developed and published by CeyNext to the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or the web.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to:
- the CeyNext marketing website;
- mobile and web applications that CeyNext publishes under its own developer accounts on the Apple App Store and Google Play; and
- client enquiries, project correspondence, and business operations.
When CeyNext builds an application on behalf of a client, the client is the data controller for that product and their own privacy notice governs end-user data. In those cases, CeyNext acts as a data processor and only handles personal data in accordance with the client's written instructions.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Contact details — your name, email address, and any information you include when you email us at heyceynext@gmail.com or otherwise contact us.
- Project information — briefs, requirements, attachments, and communications related to engagements.
- Account data (in our apps) — if an app requires an account, we collect the identifiers and credentials you supply (e.g. email, display name, authentication tokens).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, language, time zone, and app version.
- Usage data — pages viewed, features used, session duration, referring URLs, and interaction events.
- Diagnostic data — crash logs, performance metrics, and error reports used to improve stability.
- Cookies and similar technologies — on our website, to remember preferences and measure traffic. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
2.3 Information From Device Permissions
Some apps request OS-level permissions (for example camera, microphone, photo library, location, contacts, or notifications). These permissions are only used for the purpose disclosed in-app and only after you grant consent. You may revoke any permission at any time through your device settings.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal data to:
- deliver, maintain, and improve our websites and apps;
- respond to enquiries, provide support, and manage client engagements;
- personalise content, remember preferences, and keep you signed in;
- diagnose crashes, debug issues, and enhance reliability and security;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our contractual rights.
4. Legal Bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where EU, UK, or similar data protection law applies, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases: your consent; performance of a contract with you; compliance with a legal obligation; and our legitimate interests in running a safe, secure, and useful service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
To build and operate our products we rely on reputable service providers who process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. Categories include:
- App distribution — Apple App Store (Apple Inc.) and Google Play (Google LLC), which provide install metrics and crash reports.
- Cloud hosting & backend — providers such as Google Firebase, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or similar, used for authentication, databases, storage, and serverless functions.
- Analytics — privacy-aware analytics tools used to understand aggregate usage patterns.
- Crash and performance monitoring — services such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry to capture diagnostic reports.
- Communication — email and messaging providers used to respond to enquiries.
These providers are only permitted to use data for the purposes we specify and in accordance with their own privacy and security commitments.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share data only:
- with the service providers described above, under contract;
- with clients who have engaged us to build software, strictly limited to their project;
- to comply with law, regulation, court order, or lawful government request;
- to protect the rights, property, or safety of CeyNext, our users, or the public;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case we will notify affected users.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, to provide our services, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce agreements. Diagnostic logs are typically retained for up to 90 days. Account and contact records are retained while the relationship is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.
8. Data Security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, least-privilege service credentials, and regular review of our dependencies. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
9. International Data Transfers
CeyNext is headquartered in New Zealand and uses global cloud infrastructure. Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
10. Your Rights
10.1 GDPR / UK GDPR
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
10.2 California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. CeyNext does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
10.3 Other Jurisdictions
Similar rights may exist under other laws (for example New Zealand Privacy Act, Australia Privacy Act, PIPEDA, LGPD). We honour applicable rights regardless of where you reside.
10.4 How to Exercise Your Rights
Email
heyceynext@gmail.com with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
Our website and the apps we publish are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. App Store Privacy Disclosures
In addition to this Policy, each app we publish discloses data collection practices through Apple's App Privacy Details (the "nutrition label" on its App Store listing) and Google Play's Data Safety section. Please review an app's store listing for product-specific disclosures before installation.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as an in-app notification).
